CANADIAN BRED MARE CLASS
One of the many ways the Clydesdale Horse Association of Canada works to promote the breed is through
the continued support of breed shows and classes, including the Canadian Bred Mare Class.Quality dams are the foundation of the national herd, and the class is held at seven shows across Canada to promote,
and recognize the country’s best mares.
Rules: The class is open to Clydesdale females who are;1. Bred in Canada2. Born in Canada3. Registered in Canada4. Raised in Canada5. Solely owned by a Canadian(s)6. There is no entry fee for the class7. At the show the mare must also participate in her age appropriate class, to enter the Canadian Bred Mare Class.8. The mare may win at more than one show, but may only win once at any particular show.9. Awards will be paid as follows;1st - $100, 2nd - $90, 3rd - $80, 4th - $70, 5th - $60, 6th to 10th, $4010. Awards will only be paid for the actual number of horses participating in the Class, to a maximum of ten horses.Remuneration: The Clydesdale Horse Association of Canada pays an award of up to $600 for each Canadian Bred Mare Class, based on the number of horses actually exhibited.Awards are paid to the exhibitors by the individual Show Committee, who in turn invoice the Canadian Association for the number mares who were actually exhibited in the Canadian Bred Mare Class.
